2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE
The 650 hp ZL1 is the performance flagship of the Camaro lineup. With a supercharged 6.2 liter V8 and a full 650 lb-ft of torque, the ZL1 roars from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds. The 1LE builds on the ZL1's capabilities to create a more track-focused race car.
The body sees a number of aerodynamic improvements for added downforce, including air deflectors and dive plans on the front fascia, with a new carbon fiber rear wing.
Lightweight Multimatic Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve (DSSV) dampers improve body control in cornering and front adjustable ride height. New adjustable camber plates and a three-way adjustable rear stabilizer bar add to the track-readiness, and can be quickly returned to street settings.
Lightweight wheels of forged aluminum are an inch smaller in diameter, but allow for an inch wider track on the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R tires that offer a maximum lateral grip of a heart-racing 1.10g. These tires are exclusive to the ZL1 1LE. While the vehicle footprint increases by about 10 percent, the wheel and tire combo actually weighs less 3.3 lbs on each corner than the stock ZL1, contributing to reduced unsprung mass. Other weight saving measures, including a fixed-back rear seat and thinner rear glass, offer a total weight savings of 60 lbs compared to the regular ZL1.
