Can't disagree. Too many startups look more like upstarts as their founders find it cool to create some ugly looking websites, overloaded with heavy-weight scripts that won't load anywhere. And I did it right from the start. I read about how to build a spa and even though that was a single page application, there were no bugs there. So I guess no more questions.
You forgot to mention SEO. So many people get obsessed with it, although for the small business it is important, but not defining. If you create a crappy website, you will only loose money, promoting your garbage.
