Suction Cup Therapy, Cupping Physical Therapy in Brooklyn NY

Image

Suction cup therapy (also called Cupping therapy) that we currently offer in Brooklyn began as an ancient healing modality in China. Cupping physiotherapy was so effective for treating pain that radiates just below the skin’s surface that it’s been copied and modernized for centuries.

Suction cup therapy loosens up your energy and affects your soft tissue, providing results that are hard to dismiss. Whether you want cupping treatment for pain relief, to help you lose weight or just to relax, your physical therapists at TRI Physical Therapy is fully trained in cupping physical therapy.

Cupping physical therapy is an ancient practice that is exactly as its name suggests. Today, it’s part of a holistic physical therapy practice in Brooklyn at TRI Physical Therapy.

The suction cup therapy technique involves applying inverted physical therapy suction cups to your skin to create a suction to draw toxins out of your body. Suction cup treatment has no side effects and is very effective form of treatment we use in our Brooklyn pain management and rehabilitation center.

Also called myofascial decompression, this ancient Chinese cupping therapy practice, when performed by a trained physical, suction cup therapy therapist, is typically done to reduce pain, improve blood flow and induce relaxation.

The physical therapy suction cups that are used in cupping therapy are usually made of glass, silicone or plastic. Your Brooklyn physical therapist may recommend cupping physiotherapy as part of your treatment plan to loosen tight muscles or to relieve pain. Suction cup therapy may be part of your treatment for everything from work-related injuries and sports injuriesto relieving stress and associated weight gain.TYPES OF SUCTION CUP THERAPY (CUPPING)

Over the past several hundred years, cupping physical therapy (PT) or suction cup therapy has been used in many cultures and done using different approaches, most often as either wet cupping or dry cupping physiotherapy. In both of these types of suction cup treatments, multiple cups are placed on your skin and the air inside the cup is removed to create a suctioning effect.

In wet cupping physiotherapy, superficial skin incisions are made after the physical therapy suction cups are removed and a small amount of blood is suctioned out. This may help reduce the amount of toxins in your body. In dry cupping, the cup is applied to the skin and creates a vacuum which causes your skin to rise as blood vessels expand, but no bleeding is induced in this type of cupping physiotherapy.

Arthritis PT (Physical Therapy) Treatment in Brooklyn NYC

After years of relying on damaging pain medication to help you get through the day, you may never need those pills again to live a pain-free life, even if you’ve been diagnosed with arthritis. In the past, arthritis was a life sentence that meant you had to give up many of your favorite activities.

Now, thanks to advances in physical therapy (PT) treatments and the dedication of physical therapists in Brooklyn seeking to help suffering patients, you can find pain relief and a full range of motions without surgery or any more medication.

Joint pain and stiffness are the main signs of arthritis, a common condition in which one or more joints are affected by inflammation. Arthritis affects more than 50 million adults and is the leading cause of disability in America. Many people adjust their normal activities to accommodate the pain caused by inflamed joints. Others opt for surgery to replace worn out body parts like hips and knees which might require knee osteoarthritis physical therapy. Untreated, arthritis can lead to depression.

Some of the most common symptoms of arthritis include:

Pain and tendernessSwelling in affected jointsStiffnessDecreased range of motionRedness in the area affectedIntermittent painSharp, stabbing painDifficulty walkingAll-over fatigueGrinding sounds when you use the affected limbWhile it may not always be the first place you think to go for arthritis treatment, your local physical therapy practice offers effective treatments for reducing the discomfort caused by arthritis and returning you to full function.

Arthritis treatment aims to reduce symptoms of pain and limited mobility in order to improve your quality of life. Brooklyn physical therapists believe that your body is meant to move and they’ve dedicated their lives to just that goal.

TYPES OF ARTHRITISWhile there are more than 100 different types of arthritis, some are more common than others. The two most common types of arthritis are:

Osteoarthritis. This is typically an acquired disorder. The disease breaks down the cartilage that cushions your joints. It’s common among the elderly after years of everyday use. Athletes who place an enormous amount of pressure on joints also may develop osteoarthritis.Rheumatoid arthritis. This is an autoimmune disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks the linings of your joints. Rheumatoid arthritis often is genetic, but it can strike both children and adults. The sooner you can start physical therapy after symptoms of arthritis begin, the more likely you’ll be able to maintain strength, prevent permanent joint stiffness and preserve or increase strength in the surrounding muscles.

LYMPH SINUS DRAINAGE MASSAGE SPECIALISTS

Your lymph nodes are the glands that serve as hubs for releasing vital fluids through your body. Lymphedema is a common condition that can be caused when specific lymph nodes are surgically removed or damaged by an injury or infection. Our therapists use sinus drainage massage in Brooklyn to treat symptoms of lymphedema.

In Brooklyn, you don’t have to suffer with the symptoms of lymphedema. TRI Physical Therapy has trained therapists who have successfully treated the painful condition with decompressive lymphatic drainage massage for sinus.

Similar techniques are used to soothe swollen sinuses and reduce facial swelling.

Frontal lymphatic drainage massage also called sinus drainage massage is a technique your physical therapist may recommend to stimulate the flow of lymph fluid, which transports nutrients, white blood cells and oxygen throughout your body.

This frontal decompressive massage technique may be highly recommended if you have lymphedema, which is swelling and fluid buildup caused by damage to or removal of some of your lymph nodes.

Lymph drainage massage helps your body’s lymphatic system maintain circulation, fluid balance and immune function. Your Brooklyn physical therapist at TRI Physical Therapy in Brooklyn is specially trained in this sinus lymph drainage treatment. It can help relieve the pain and discomfort associated with lymphedema and other conditions.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage in Brooklyn NYC

LYMPHEDEMA TREATMENT WITH LYMPH DRAINAGE MASSAGE

If you have lymphedema, you usually experience swelling and heaviness in your legs, arms, shoulders, feet, hands or chest. You may find it really difficult to move one or more of your joints. Just doing some of your everyday activities becomes challenging.

Using frontal decompressive lymphatic drainage massage for sinus in a specific sequence, the physical therapy technique stimulates the lymphatic system so that the life-affirming fluid called lymph can begin to move freely once again through your tissues and lymph nodes.

Lymphatic drainage massage in Brooklyn becomes part of a plan to restore you to daily functioning.

Your physical therapist performs sinus drainage massage in Brooklyn by using a carefully planned series of stretching, cupping and gliding movements over your body. The massage technique follows the direction of the lymphatic system. Your therapist uses very light pressure and long rhythmic strokes. The treatment isn’t just for the affected area, but for parts of the lymphatic system all over your body. Lymphatic massage may be followed by compression bandaging to help reduce swelling.
